Our CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility
Our CSR policy has always been central to our thinking.
We have taken seriously our responsibility to ‘give back’ to the communities we trade within, thus we have supported local charities and additional activities related to improving the lives of the less advantaged.
Examples of our efforts include: -
Raising over £100k over the last 5 years, for local children’s and senior citizen’s charities in Surrey, Sussex & London
Co-sponsored the Slough Masters (www.thesloughmasters.com), raising over £11,000 for Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC)
Sponsoring Hastings United's Football in the Community Programme, with support from UBM ambassador, John Salako (Sky TV, England International & Premiership footballer)
Employing a handicapped member of staff
Annual visits (funded by UBM & organised by employees) taking handicapped adults for days out, away from their residential care environment
Sponsoring the employee of the year awards 2009 for the carers of disable children at St. Giles School, Pampersford Rd, Croydon
Raising funds in excess of £4,000 to Cleft Lip & Palate Association
Additional charity fundraising activity to support St. Giles and the Geoff Thomas Foundation, raising in excess of £20,000 at the St. Georges Day 2009 Charity Ball
In addition we are extremely focused on our green responsibilities and have implemented a challenging environmental policy.
